The activities include

- rendering medical services based on traditional Tibetan medicine practiced in Buryatia;

- production of medicaments from plant raw material;

- research studies and

- medical ecological tourism and recreation at Lake Baikal.

Therapeutic and diagnostic methods used are

- phytotherapy using medicaments from ecologicallly sound plant raw material prepared by the drugstore of medicinal herbs personnel;

- acupuncture;

- cauterization/moxa with cigar-like sticks made of wormwood;

- bloodletting from biologically active points;

- Tibetan baths made on the basis of five species of herbs effective against diseases of the bone-muscular system, nervous system, skin ailments, etc. They are also good for gerontological purposes;

- health improving wu shu and qi gong exercises,

- fasting.

Along with generally adopted methods, patients are examined with the help of pulse and acupuncture-points-based diagnostics. The unique automated pulse diagnostics equipment with computerized data processing is used, it allows diagnostics at earlier, pre-clinical stages.
